Which is cheaper for a lawn care business?

  • On your own: Jobber Core is $29 a month billed yearly, against $59 for Housecall Pro Basic.
  • On your own, with QuickBooks: Jobber Connect at $99 against Housecall Pro Essentials at $149.
  • A crew of five: the same, $149 a month billed yearly for Jobber Connect or Housecall Pro Essentials.
  • Six to ten people: Jobber Connect's 10-user tier is $229; Housecall Pro needs MAX at $299 for eight, plus $35 for each extra person.

Recurring mowing and routes

A mowing business lives on the same stops every week, so routing matters. Housecall Pro lists routes on Essentials and route optimization with live traffic on MAX. Jobber's pricing page does not list routing among its plan features. Whichever you try, load a real week of your route during the free trial and see how the schedule handles it.

Quotes, upsells and follow-ups

Both send quotes from the entry plan. Jobber's Connect plan adds automated follow-ups on quotes and invoices, and Grow adds optional line items, handy for offering aeration or a cleanup alongside a mowing quote. Housecall Pro adds a sales proposal tool with side-by-side options on MAX.

Getting paid

Both take online payments from the entry plan. Housecall Pro's pricing page lists card fees from 2.59%, 1% on bank payments and no fee on checks. Jobber's pricing page does not list its fees, so ask before you sign up: on a busy season, a fraction of a percent adds up.

Not ready to pay?

If you only have a few customers, a free plan or our estimate and invoice templates may be enough for now. Our lawn care software comparison lists seven apps, including Yardbook's free plan.
